Weight Loss: Day 20

Day 20: Starting out fresh

Yesterday I went over a whole bunch of information online about eating right for your blood type. I’m O+. The information I was finding said that a lot of things that I normally eat, are actually bad for me based on my blood type. I have been wondering if that’s why I’m not losing weight.

After looking into the information, I made a grocery list for myself. This is what made my grocery haul so expensive for this week! $165.54?! I haven’t really spent more than $100 a week on groceries in months! It was also a time where we ran out of everything all at once.

We were out of napkins, paper plates, dish soap, foil, freezer bags, and running low on meat in the freezer. Anyway, I’ll save the rest of that info for the grocery haul post!

As for what I actually purchased- I bought grass fed beef, lamb, kale, spinach, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. I also got some turmeric. I’ve been reading a lot about the benefits of turmeric. Let’s see if they turn out to be true, or if it’s just this year’s “super food” trend.

Weight Loss: Day 20

I’ve also been pretty consistent with getting in the recommended 8 glasses of water a day. My skin has been noticeably clearer. Especially around the “woman-time” every month. Like right now, I only have tiny pimples near my hairline, where I usually break out with a few large zits on my chin and brow line.

I think I’ll keep this up! Haha

As I promised yesterday in Weight Loss: Day 19, I would wake up early, drink some water, and jump straight into a workout so I wouldn’t find myself at this time of night (It’s about 9:30pm) having not done my workout yet.

Let me tell you how that went.

I woke up at around 6:30am. Rambo likes his treats at that time, so every morning I have my own meow alarm clock. Only this one doesn’t have a snooze button!

Michael is the one who gets up to give him treats, and that usually starts our day. Sometimes I’m able to get back to sleep, but normally I find myself scrolling through my emails or social media. This allows me to cut it out of my “get ready for work” routine.

I did my usual scrolling through Instagram and by 7:30am, I remembered that I was supposed to get up and workout. I got my water bottle ready and hit play on my workout dvd. Choosing the Total Cardio Fix on my 21 day fix dvd, I jumped right into my workout. My warm up felt great, and I got halfway through the workout.

Then I started feeling sick. Really sick.

I couldn’t catch my breath, I was sweating really bad, and I looked pale. My water bottle was still three quarters full. I was pacing myself with the water. I didn’t want to upset my stomach, but apparently that didn’t help. Well, I needed to literally “spill my guts.” Needless to say I felt a lot better after clearing the contents of my stomach. At this point there wasn’t much in there…

After that wonderful experience- I went back to the rest of the workout and took a much more relaxed and easy approach to the exercises. They always have someone who modifies the exercises by either not using weights, or just taking it a little easier. I followed her the rest of the way and added in some weights as I felt strong enough again.

By the time my workout was over, I was just glad I didn’t have to workout for the rest of the day. What I did find out though is that I shouldn’t do a high cardio workout without first having something in my stomach. Good lesson to learn. And as promised from yesterday, I would follow it up with my Mango Banana Smoothie– Did that too.

21 Day Fix- Total Cardio Fix

Total calories consumed today: 1047

Very low day on calories. It was very strange. I wasn’t hungry. I tried really hard to eat more today, but I wasn’t hungry. Maybe it was because my stomach had such a shock this morning from getting sick during the workout.

Another day tomorrow, and I will be making separate dinners for myself all week. Everyone else will have regular meals but I’m working on watching what I eat even more carefully.
